On the eve of the cup - The fire of the Mercedes and the German team

There is no longer a driver today who does not know, at least by name, the famous German brand Mercedes. A few words of explanation, first of all, on this name of bizarre appearance and whose Spanish sounds have something strange in the country of Goethe. For it is in the country if not of Goethe himself, born in Frankfurt, but of Schiller, a Württemberg, and in Cannstadt, a small town located opposite Stuttgart, capital of Württemberg, that stands or rather stood the factory of the Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft which has just been destroyed by a terrible fire.

This is, moreover, a classic and historic place of the automobile, it was from these now charred walls that the first Daimler internal combustion engines came out, whose active collaborator was Maybach, the current Director of the factory. It was also from here that the first classic motor vehicles came out.

It was also here that the famous Mercedes were built, named after the second daughter of Mr. Jellineck, director of the Daimler Company.
